Hummus Among Us

As you can see, we had hummus for dinner tonight. Obviously, Clara thoroughly enjoyed it. Nothing like a mix of regular hummus and black bean hummus to brighten your day!

Surprise Visit

Granny and Papa surprised Clara with a visit yesterday. They were able to stay for Clara's favorite lunch - grilled cheese - and a little playtime outside in the backyard.

Hoppy Easter!

We had a great Easter weekend with Adam's parents in Hideaway this year. Clara had a blast chasing and running from their dog Gumbo - they are destined to be great friends if they don't kiss each other to death :) Clara definitely enjoyed finding eggs at both her Easter egg hunts this year and she figured out how to open them very quickly - with her mouth - cracking it open just like a beer bottle. Watch out braces here we come! Enjoy the pictures!

Clara's First Birthday

I know every parent says it - I can't believe how fast this year went. Honestly, when Clara was born we thought "This parenting thing is hard - are we going to make it to a year?" Yes, we made it! Clara is now a toddler on fast-forward. If you know her at all, you know that she never stopped moving since the day she was born. She is now running. We celebrated her first birthday by having lots of family and friends last Saturday over to our house and let me tell you - Clara throws a mean party! Between the bubble machine and all the wonderful presents Clara had a blast, although she wanted no part in the cake eating. I am sure she will definitely develop my sweet tooth soon enough.

Officially a Toddler

We officially have a toddler on our hands. Clara's New Year's Resolution was to walk - I only say that because her first step was taken on New Year's Day. Well, she has been practicing a little each day and she just about has it. She is a dainty little walker and a pretty good one at that. Enjoy the video!

Happy 2008 to everyone. We enjoyed a festive and family-filled Christmas break. It was Clara's first Christmas and she really had a lot of fun and we had a lot of fun sharing the holiday with her. We spent several days in Hideaway, Texas with Adam's family and then celebrated with Stacey's family in McKinney, Texas.
